How to Open FLA with .AS, .xml, etc. files
Hi,
I'm new to Flash. I don't know how to open a .FLA file into Flash when there are several associated .as files and .xml files.
When I open just the FLA, make changes to it and publish, the published .swf flashes continuously - its not useable.
What should I be doing with the .as and .xml files to make the .swf play correctly?
Thanks,
Anthony3

You do nothing with .as and .xml files, as they're imported into Flash through coding written in the FLA file. Are you sure the FLA file is yours, 'cause it shouldn't flash?

Helo Nig 13,
Yes. I purchased the FLA with all .as and .xml files in the folder. I spoke with the developer who said all I needed to do was to load the .FLA file to make whatever changes I wanted to the program. It is a chat program offered by Turbo Flash Chat online. When I load only the .fla, then publish it, the .swf flashes like it is protected or something. What do you think?

The only thing I can think of is that you're opening the FLA file in an earlier version than the file was published in, but that's not possible. Mind posting the SWF file or something?

Are all your supporting files structured correctly on the server?

Hello,
I see now that I do not need to load or open all the .as and .xml files when I open the FLA. Thanks for the help.
