I've been to their site and havn't seen enough good examples to tell if it's worth the money. They also have the 3D Studio plugin which seems nice, but it has a very high price tag. As far as Swift 3D is concerned, I will never purcase a product from a company that has no trial versions. I could care less about their 30 day, red-tape, all of our representatives are busy, please submit hand-written request, we never received your letter, plus shipping and handling, money back guarantee. Nuff said!

Uhh, you obviously have not called erain and talked to them. They pick up the phone and dont give you the run around. You might want to talk to them a bit. If you get the new book "Flash 5 Studio" due out next week I think. From http://www.friendsofed.com I did a 3D chapter where I go over the diffrent packages. And on the CD is Trial Version of Swift 3D and Amorphium Pro. So there you go. If you want to try both programs out theres your chance. and By the way, dont waist your money on the Vecta standalone very lame, only does stuff in a circle. You can save out a series of 3Ds models and then import them into the standalone but what a pain in the butt it is. Regards, Bill

P.S. I have just started a 3D protal called http://www.popedeflash.com we are just getting started but some great stuff is on its way. hope to see you there.

I've got that program, and I think it's pretty good. At least it's easy to generate 3d rendering as suppose some other tough boys like 3dsmax. Although it's not so powerful, it'll save you some time in redering 3ds. But if you're one of those hardcore 3d'ers, this one's not for you. But for most simple 3d rendering, vecta3d is pretty good. This program is a little addition to the Flash...

I am considering buying Vecta3D Standalone for some very very simple 3D animation. Can someone please tell me how does it compare to Swift3D? Which is better?
    BTW,I am using Flash 4.

I really like Swift 3D personally. It is easy to use, I can create something in Illistrator, import it into Swift and animate it in minutes. If I knew how to use 3ds Max at all I would love Swift even more.=)

dont even bother looking at vecta. it is junk, either Swift 3D or Amorphium Pro those are the only real choices now. Swift has the cleanest and best output. Vecta is still sloppy and there support is worthless. Save yourself frustration and get Swift. Regards, Bill

pope. thanks for the info. i just ordered the friends of ed studio book. i own three already.. and they are by far the best flash books ever!

anyhow.. what do you think of amorphium pro? i hear swift 3d ver. 2 will be great, but i don't know if its hype or not. if i had to spend cash on one program which would you buy? i know there is a difference in price, but let that not be the issue. which is better? i use illustrator, but not 3ds max. but i want to get into 3d without spending thousands on 3ds and trying to figure that program out.

i've been on your site.. love the tuts!
