Smart Clip Problem

I have a form that loads variables to a cgi script to send me back a formatted email. All the other variables pass to the script, except for the selection from the drop down smart clip.

I changed the default name "item" to my desired variable name "request" in the clip parameter settings.

Am I doing something wrong, or is there something else I need to do in order for the smart clip to pass the varialbles?

err, dont change "item" the macromdeia smart clip is dependednt on that variable.
