I think it's a pretty reasonable idea. Perhaps it could be a subheading under design and art/anime. Flash projects wouldn't amount to much if the graphics that underly the structure weren't innovative and on the cutting edge. Maybe a graphics subheading. I think this is what "Elvis"is proposing.

Music is my favorite form of expression. It can be so pure, beautiful, deep, and fun. For the past decade, I've been immersed in the stimulating sonic world of electronic music, but I enjoy something from most genres. Lately, I've been listening to Moby, Art of Trance, Underworld, Beastie Boys, Fantastic Plastic Machine, and Eiffel 65. Other artists I like include Huey Lewis and the News, Tom Petty, Depeche Mode, Tone Matrix, Blossom, Billie, Orbital, the Orb, DJ Seduction, Spring Heel Jack, Basement Jaxx, Information Society, UB40, and Vangelis.

My career in computers is just beginning, and I'm building a skill set that hopefully can be put to good use. At the moment, I am attempting to learn Perl, XML, Visual Basic, Java, C++, and a slew of other things, as time permits. It's slow going, but doable. On the web, I maintain moby.org, a site for fans of the musician Moby. Recently, I earned an AAS degree in CIS at Front Range Community College. It's nice having that accomplishment under my belt so I can move on with other things.

Actually, phacker has said one of the best things in this thread, about still graphics being the underlying structure for the look and design of motion sites. I totally agree with that. There is a way you can create an image, in which it speaks to you in a way, communicates emotion, and portrays the depths of imagination. That is what art and graphic design are to me. Much in the same way Pope discusses music, I would have to do the same. Music is by far the greatest thing in the world to me- writing it, playing it, listening to it. I have let music become an analogy for the way I see design, and the way I work on things. There is a fine line between sites that are static, and sites that bombard the viewer with motion and animation. I'd like to think the harmony is right in the middle, taking influence from both sides and crafting something that has good balance and useability.

--> Let me take a brief second to, again, reccomend what I did a while back: HTML-KIT, HTML-KIT!!!!!

Sorry, that was just another sarcastic blurb. Anyhow...I think this a great idea, it is something I would be very interested in seeing. However, I would hope the nature would be centered on the images, and not the function of an HTML site. It seems that if that were to happen, we'd really have to branch out into HTML-KIT. The design section would be a good place for more graphic discussion, in fact it's something I was going to get around to proposing last week. Let's get it going!

One final thought: I'm much too busy to search for all the threads and gossip about who elvis really is, so someone give me a good rundown as to what is going on in this sitcom. And a final note, I did spend my last year of high school as a malfunctioning robot, it was a tough life, so someone just offer elvis an upgrade...

is there anything like this up in the Design board yet? I think it's a very interesting idea. Static images can convery a lot. Just look at a "communication arts" annual and you'll be blown away with what a still image can do.
