After asked a few questions on load movie and got help from some helpful people in this forum, I have done this prelim menu. The idea of style is from the Mancester airport sit. Just I modified the style a bit. Any comment(even negative) or suggestion of improvement are welcome.

Anything contained in your Swish movie does not need to be downloaded to the veiwers computer. I canceled your attempt to send me your font as it's not needed. Think of your Swish presentation as a moving picture and totally selfcontained.
You now need to go check tutorials or do a search on preloaders. I loaded with a 56k modem and had a wait with an absolutely blank white screen. You need a preloader.]
    Nice start.

I like the effect and the smoothness. Will the action be an "on Press" and if so what user feedback do you have in mind...sound..colour change..action.
On mouseover now something happens but from a users point of view I was left wondering when to click...after the colour goes across...shame to do it while its moving (its soooosmooth) or just do it anytime.
I guess I'm a little to used to the "instanT: style click me response we all see so much of.
Stick with it..maybe a really nice sound effect.
Will you be putting into your Food site./

Hey Jofta, I think I nailed the background. Don't pay any attention to the text and stuff but see what you think of the stars and the planets. Have to smooth the planets movement I know. Really rough.

    Doug & Jofta,

    Thanks for your constructive replies.

    1. I agree I have to put a preloader on that. Will do later.

    2. I didn't realize that the server tried to load the font to you. What I know is that menu is a swf file controlling 2 movies to be loaded when clicked. And I learned from this forum that I have to put all the swf files under one directory. So I uploaded total 3 swf files to the server. And I don't understanding till now what caused the font loading. Doug, I need your advice as on what part did I go wrong and how to avoid loading unnecessary stuff to viewers.

    3. Jofta's question of when do I expect the viewer to click on the button is a good question. Actually I expect the viewer can click that anytime when they mouseover on that. However, the case is the on press command will only be active after the whole process of color bar slide in is done. This is not I wanted and seems this is the limitation of onPress command when combine with slide in/out. What shall I do?

As to the loading of the font, I am not to sure. That might be a good new thread for the forum-Off topic. I do know that people have been playing with it to keep their pages using their intended fonts. Not sure why yours is doing that and it wouldn't be one of your .swf's.

As to the On release action. No action will take place until animation on the object stops. I usually place an invisible text object in front of the text object to click and put the focus on the invisible one.

    Hope that helps,.

Is your mouse effect "on press" or "on release" ...it does make a difference from the users point of view.
To Dougs point..I thought the download box that came up was the standard...do you want to view this in another language box.
I just said no and away it went.
    Jofta.

Just thought of it...why dont you have your Mouse effect happen on a hidden rectangle behond the sliding colour and the text. That gets you away from your current problem.

Could have been Jofta. You know I didn't really look at it that much. It came up and I blew it off. I stand corrected. Just shows you you should read things before you act.
