Here is the blow by blow...

Index.htm contains javascript that launches a popup window that constrained to 720px X 400px.

The file that pops up is map.htm which fits PERFECTLY (upon initial loading) and contains a flash moive.

Both in the map.htm and all other subsequent pages I am trying to link to, no elements go outside the 720x400px space. All elements are positioned with css absolute values in pixels.

When I click links within the map.htm, either flash or html links (including a link to the page itself map.htm), the page loads, but with scroll bars; eventhough the JS on index.htm has no scroll bars for the popup code!

*** this ONLY happens when a flash movie is present on the map page AND in IE5 for mac ONLY, not NS or IE/NS for windows. When I remove the flash movie on teh map page everything works fine. it has NOTHIGN to do with content on the subsequent pages. any ideas? thanks in adv.
