Hi:

I'm trying to make a pip (picture-in-picture) type effect, but I'm having mixed results using instances.

I made a copy of the main MC (imageViewer), and gave it a new name (imageViewer2). The instance names are the same.

In frame 1 of the main movie, I am loading an external swf ("palmTree") into both MC's. So, I'm using two loadMovie () commands, one for "imageViewer" and another for "imageViewer2."

Sometimes it seems as though Flash is loading the file twice. At other times, just once. And at other times, I'm not sure. For example, sometimes the loader bar will appear in both MC's, but at other times, it only shows up in the large one. Then sometimes the small MC loads the external swf first, but at other times it is loaded long after the large MC.

Can anyone tell me how to load these two MC's?

I want to load just the one external swf one time, but into two different MC's. Again, the second MC is just a rescaled copy of the first.

To complicate things, my preloader loads the external files from my main movie, instead of the preloader being in the actual external movies.

If you click on "gallery," you can load a second movie into the two MCs for testing. (Just the first two [top-left] thumbs are active).

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
