    Simple Masking Fx doesn't work?

    I followed the gleam totorial [ http://www.flashkit.com/tutorials/Te...-525/index.php ] and it looks fine when I animate it in the flash editor using '<' and '>' keys. however when I play the file. I just see the mask scrolling from one side of the screen to the other?

    anyone know what Im doing wrong?
