Need help with a simple drop down menu, please!

I've been fighting with a very simple drop down menu system.

Roll the mouse over the menu item, a few more items appear below it. No transitions, just pop, roll out they go away.

I can get the appear dissappear to work but when I do that I have to over lay a hit box over the button and popup area to keep them showing. When I use this approach I can't get the buttons to work they seem to be undetectable behind the "hit box".

Here is my fla with each of the states as a key frame. Please help this has gotten so frustrating
