interview coaching?
Hi,
I'm headed into my second interview and I'm wondering what are some common interview questions, or areas I should concentrate on as I brush up?
I'm self taught in AS2, though I have a background in C++, from years ago. I'm currently at my job of 1.5 years at a small company where I can (and do) get away with programming without OOP. Obviously all the work will be OOP at the new job, but the few times I've programmed using it, I've had no trouble.
I only ask because I was recently rattled by a smaller company's interview which I suspect was a little unconventional but I'm not experienced enough to be certain - a quiz about big O notation, algorithms, etc, during which I was to answer on a dry erase board as they asked, rather than given time on my own to plow through it. Is this kind of interview normal? As a C++ programmer, are there any major differences in how AS2 works that I should know about?
I know I'm probably not as knowledgeable about AS2 programming as they'd like me to be, but I'm confident I can learn quickly if there's anything I don't know - that's part of the reason I'm interested in the job. Unfortunately, I don't think bigger companies will be willing to put their faith in a stranger so easily!
Help? I'M FREAKING OUT HERE.
