Problem with registration point

I'm trying to line up some movie clips. The problem is that they are lining up at the crosshair (which results in not being lined up at all). Through the Free Transform Tool, I moved the registration point (I believe that's what it's called), which allows me to move the little "circle" inside the movieclip. However, that still leaves the crosshair at the upper left corner on all the movieclips - leaving them lining up wrong (as they are different sizes/shapes). I'm aiming to have them line up at the top center.

How do I move that little crosshair on the movieclip??

Edited to say - from what I'm reading around the web the Free Transform Tool can change the Transformation Point of a mc (symbolized by the white circle in mc) ... but what I'm looking for is how to change the Registration Point of the mc (symbolized by it's crosshair) - hope I'm making more sense now LOL
