great idea for pre-loaders!!!

I had a brainstorm the other day. During the preloading message of a flash animation, why not sell that space for advertising!! people could pay to make your preloader their advertisement!! has anyone done this before? I know that I hae never seen this. It would also be different from all those boring "loading...please wait" messages. what do you think??

I can't think of anything that would cause me to leave a site more quickly (except perhaps for even more irritating popups). This seems an all around bad idea to me.

Spumco had that idea and in fact did just that. They are a very large firm however and did a Bjork Video, Several National Ad programs, and Produced the God**** George Liquor Show (One of the first Flash Web Toons on the Net).

I'm not sure how well it was recieved and they are a very well known firm.

I think if the Ad wasn't Obtrusive you could get away with it.
