PHPMyAdmin problems.

hey everyone, i'm hoping somone can help me here cuz i'm stuck.. i'm a bit new to the linux environment and i'm trying to setup phpMyAdmin for a site i'm doing.

i've got MySQL installed ok and it all works via telnet.
but i want an easier way to setup my databases. i was told PHPmyAdmin is a good one for this.

a few questions. firstly i dont understand the user login thing (editing the config.php thingy) and secondly do i have to install it on root? or somwhere else. i seem to remember about it being on a power user?? or somthing along those lines. what is a power user and how do i set one up?
