Version 2 is even better than I thought it would be. The control over positioning is so good (5/100th px)that we can safely use some fonts at 8pt. You'll see what I'm taking about. Only certain fonts will counter Flash's antialiasing at such small sizes.

This is by no means even close to done, I just wanted to post it to get some opinions.

The loading sequence isn't in there yet, so forgive the choppy loading.

Home, profile, and design are working.

It is very nice and clean.

Is there one of the anti-antialiasing fonts that you have had the most success with? I have tried hooge, silkscreen and several others with mixed results, even when I think that I have followed all of the instructions to the letter (to make a bad pun).

    Cheers,

Any tips on getting the fonts to work? looks like you are using some fonts of the minimal site. I tried Kroeger but it doesnt look as good as yours...not even close.

    Thanks.

    MP..

Really nice. Makes me want to revisit to see what's new. One thing, I was hoping the text could be a teeny bit bigger when I have to read something over a paragraph (sometimes i'll blow it up using the zoom in feature) .. i'm running at 1152 though, so you might wanna ignore me

    About the "miniml" fonts.

Even though the instructions for the fonts say to make sure your positioning is on the exact (full) pixel, swish doesn't seem to see it that way.

I find that if you nudge the x coordinate by .15, .30, or sometimes even .5, the text clears up. Keep the y coordinate at the full pixel.

If your text is in a sprite, you have two positions to worry about...the position of the text AND the position of the sprite. You may need to play around with the alignments for a while.

Remember that these fonts only work at 8pt or multiples of 8pt (8,16,24,32,40,48...for those that can't multiply). You will get anitaliased text at any other size.

    Hope it helps.

    Looks great

I'd fix the annoying scroller (um, clicker thingy) I can help you so that it functions like a normal scroller that scrolls up and down onpress and stops on release unless the only going down in stages with the left click is what you are wanting.

It's just a little glitch in the drag layer (I'm working on it). If you click just above the scroll handle, it will work fine. You can also click & hold at the top or bottom of the line for a continuous scroll.

The reason I like this particular script is that it gives the look & feel of a regular scrollbar, and it's also crossbrowser (not with the .swf in it though...)

Still lots of work to do.

swf is crossbrowser too as you know

Its easy to do in swish 2 exactly as a traditional scroller you would see on the internet with a dragable sidescroller handle, but if you would rather do it using javascript thats cool. Nice site.

Thanks for the ideas. The "news" window will eventually hold my guestbook, so I'll need to be able to use an ssi tag there, and insert html into a layer.

looking good as always, I look forward to seeing it develop. It's a bit white for me, but then I like black sites

Wolfgross, I used to have the blurb font, but my copy is now corrupt can you send it to me? (BTW, my blurb font was a custom font made by a guy called blurb who was a swish wizard when swish was pre version 1 )

Nice work Jay. Very clean and straight forward. I also tried the MINIML fonts a while back and couldn't get them to work. Maybe I'll try again.

You are liking Swift3D aren't you?!? Those little 3D touches add quite alot to a site. I bought it about 3 weeks ago and haven't put it down. Swish and the .SWF files Swift3D make play together very nicely. Though, I've found that when the .SWF's get over 100k, it bogs Swish down HORRENDOUSLY. Then if you put more than 1 100k files in there, you're screwed.

    As always, great work Jay!

    Colors work well together.

Can't wait to see the finished product.
