Why does Koolmoves distort and cut off the edges of some fonts? It's whenever I use text effects, and it's only the rounded letters like the U's ,O's, S, ect.. Am I doing something wrong or is it the program? Just wondering.

    Noticed it to.

Convert text to shapes corrects it though.

It is under the transform menu at the top.

Large fonts, 30pts+, get cut for some reason.

Turn them into shapes and scale them as shapes.

I don't think that's in the help menu. You can't do some transformations on text but you can transform the shapes. There is a thread somewhere that explains this.

Please send a fun file with the cut off problem to [email protected]. I suspect the problem has to do with a bounding box associated with the text in the swf that is too small. I can confirm that with if given an example. I will increase the bounding box in the next release.

Since it didn't look very good I deleted mine, but i'm sure it wouldn't be very hard to recreate. I'll send one to you soon.

    Just a thought:

If the characters were italic and it was the rightmost character then it is likely to be a truetype problem where some fonts calculate the wrong width for italicised characters. This would also explain why converting to curves works.

On the other hand, if it wasn't then it probably isn't!!

I'm still trying to find out how I had it before, it was really bad. About 1/4 of the letter was gone. So far though I've noticed that all of the bottoms of the rounded letters are cut off, or flattened. Some fonts are worse than others, and they must be larger in size (I was using 70).

Same thing seems to be happening to me + it's happening on the bottom of round shapes as well.

Yeah it's ALWAYS on the bottom of the letters (large font size), but this is on the sides too that I saw. I'll have to see what font that was and try to duplicate it.

by the way I saw your movie- got a kick out of it.

The KISS was great. I E-mailed you the source code to Fix your page.

I also wrote a tutoriol on how to export to the Web.

he he , I was just playing around with the kiss stuff. I usually use the larger fonts, I suppose I should be getting Swish. Maybe next week but I want to learn more about Koolmoves first.

I downloaded Swish and played with it.

It is a lot diffrent from Kool Moves. It behaves pretty much like Adobe LM and Flash, as far as designing in it goes.

You type your text, import sounds and images, then assign effects to it in scenes.

People have designed whole sites in this app.
