Does anyone know how to make a dark monitor lighter? I have a pretty dim one, with the contrast and brightness cranked all the way up. I used adobe gamma level program to make it "better" before (not perfect), but now with my xp upgrade I am really looking at a dying firefly. Thanks.

I was told by an "expert" ...buy a new one. They do die after some time. Mine was an IBM monitor 2 1/2 years old. ( says a lot for IBM) Just kept getting darker. Treat yourself .

True - monitors do have a shelf life ... something like 5 years, isn't it? Okay ... well - except maybe IBMs ...

How old is your monitor, Pheck?

Get an eye test first though...I thought my old monitor was going blurry but it turns out i'm going blind from staring at a monitor all the time

    respect and thanks.

I am off to get a new one. Funny thing is it just completely died on me within an hour of posting this thread. I used to be able to smack it when it'd trip out, but even my spanking don'twork anymore. I'm typing at school now. It was manufactured in 1997 so I guess time's about up (Proview monitor wasn't the best anyway).
