I have the swf file in the folder with the HTML cut and pasted into the page, It won't preview or play?

    Can someone help me please.

    Thank you very much!

We will need a URL to look at the source code to answer your question.

Also, you can look at http://www.dallas-photography.com to see myother stuff and see if that helps you help me.

Looking at the source code of your TBI test page, you are missing (among other things) your html, head, and body tags.

The proliferation (my only big word for the day) of footers has the single purpose of getting you to give up this minimalist phase you are going through and put one up yourself.

    ...proliferation...

I'll eventually get one up. I had a real cool effect that I wanted to put in a footer, but when I scaled it down to fit the 300x40, couldn't see it
    I'll work on it sometime

I use FP2K and find the following the easiest way for me.

I save the SWF file as needed. In FP, I create a new page and select the area of the page where I want the SWF file to be. I click on Insert/Advanced/Plug-In. I navigate my hard drive to where I saved the SWF and select it. I enter the SWF dimensions (height and width) in the plug-in properties window and hit 'ok'. You will see a plug-in icon representing your SWF. In FP, select Preview (a tab on the bottom next to html) You should see your movie play.

Save/publish your page. All should be ok, since FP creates all the html for you.

    Hope this helps.

thanks for the info, I am a novice at this, I don't know what source codes are.

Here is what I am doing and have done in the past and it worked.

I export to swf and put in my folder where the page is. Then I export to HTML and bang it is supposed to work.

for some reason, I cannot get it to play or preview.

    Can you still help?

I never export to HTML. I'm not saying it's the wrong way, or a bad way. I've just never did it that way to know. I'm comfortable by my procedures as I explained above. It has never failed me. Also, I use tables ... alot! It makes it easier to place the SWF on the page.

I use FP 2k and have encountered the problem of the movie looping when just importing the swf to FP2k even though in Swish I had the export option without loop. When inserting the swf as a plug in component in FP2k and clicking on its properties to make sure looping was, it would show that it was off until you actually viewed it live on the server.

I started exporting as html which also created the swf and opened FP2k. Then I would click "File" in FP2k and choose "Import" and added the html and the swf. I double clicked the html page and made whatever adjustments needed and then saved it and published. It worked like a charm for me that way. It never looped if I didn't have it as an option.

I use the "Include Page" options from time to time in FP2k if I have multiple swfs that I want on the same page, i.e. a flash banner menu and a movie, etc.
