I have built a "sample" login, register, and quiz at this site. http://209.136.146.140/database/quiz.html The odd thing that happens is that sometimes it works great, and sometimes it doesn't work at all. If you go to the site and click "administrator" and see a list of registered users, it has worked. If you can't get to the login screen it did not work. If you first find it didn't work, close the browser and try agian, it just might the next time? Odd behavior...huh??
I put some code in the first few frames that checks for a connection, if there is not a connection, you don't get to the LOGIN screen.
Are there any issues with flash and ASP? I am using POST to post the varibles. I am using a DSN to connect to the MS access database. To me, it acts like the server falls asleep sometimes, but I don't think that is it. Also, the server is a commercial ISP, so I don't have anyway to check the server, however, it doesn't seem to be a problem when tested on my local web server.
Anyone got any ideas?

Hi,
I got an overwhelming "1 success in 4 tries" score.... and it is definitely the server not responding to a correct request at all.
You said this is commercial hosting. Does it work any better if you use the site name instead of the IP? Otherwise I would consider changing hosts (and going for a unix server)
BTW: can you tell the hosting company to fix the mime types - viewers on system that honor mime tyes sent from the server might see "cannot find plugin for mime type application/octet-stream" message or other weird behaviour

I use ASP too ... i published some samples on my page
--> http://www.rolandschaer.ch
i've no problems with them, in your case i would change the host.

I have not officially switched my company site to this new host, so my domain name is still at the old host.
I just checked the site, and when I went to "Administrator" didn't find any new registered users, which means that it did not work??? That is the odd behavior i am talking about, works sometimes.. geezz..
Musicman, your comments about mime types, did something occur to make you think the server has a mime problem, or was it a suggestion?
Anyone know of a good WEB host provider that can provide ASP service? I found this one on the web, I guess getting a reference would be a better solution.
