Hello !
be chance I found the following free software under:
http://www.flashtoolset.com/FTS/features.html
quote from the website:
Flashtoolset is an application conceived by a "flasher" to ease your work. It is just the beginning of a great application that will let you browse/ inspect/ extract/ manage/ find/ publish swf/projector files.
Main features:
- Regular flash browser and player (+frames sliding bar)
- Web Publish
- Extract resources (sound not supported yet)
- Extract swf from projector
- Create projector from swf
- Unprotect swf
- Create files for autorun cd
- File properties (width x height x fps x nr of frames)
- Find swf files by flash version/number of frames/width/height etc
- News system (fresh daily flash news)
- Show only swf files
Sounds interesting, maybe you wanna take a look at it and maybe an expert like johnie could inspect the software. I first tried to post this on http://www.koolmoovers.com, but this site seems to be inactive (Johnie, I learned a lot from your tuts there, unfortunately, no new one were published within the last few weeks)
Greetings

Hi Gorky,
I'm new here too - new to Flash in general and KoolMoves specifically. Thanks for posting this info, this .swf format is still a great mystery to me and this should help.
I come to this great program from an artistic point of view not as a programmer.

If Matt is not posting on KoolMovers then it indeed is inactive and has been since Dec 2001. To be completly honest I haven't heard from Matt since Sept.
When he set up that site he gave limited admin permissions to both myself and to another person. There were some things we could do, such as post new reviews (that we wrote), edit existing reviews, and post articles on the site, both new and submitted ones, but were limited to that and Matt also donated some space, which I never used, to store files for articles.
Anyhow I looked at it and it's another Woof/SWF Browser like tool. If you go for these types of tools Barefoot just put out one and SWF Scanner was just updated and they dropped their price also. If i'm not wrong I believe there are about 10 such tools out the market some do better than others.
This one isn't too bad, its got some handy features. It lacks a Parser that shows all the internal; workings but most designers aren't teriblly interested in that. This one does have an Auto Run Maker and some other decent features like the HTML Publish wizard. It added a Toolbar Icon in my start bar, don't know if I paticularly like that but some people do its easy enough to remove by hand if you don't care for that sort of thing.
Not a bad little tool- probably would rate it 7-8 on a scale of 10. If they added a parser to it add a point and a way to include make borderless projectors then add another point. If they sell it I wouldn't give more than $20-$30 for it as is.

Hi guys,
before labelling something as "free", one should always carefully read the license agreement first, to see how "free" it actually is :
[...]
RESTRICTIONS
You may not use the software as a part of any for-profit, commercial venture.
[...]
Just my 2 cents for all professional web/flash designers out there
All the best,
Stephan
