Is there any way in Flash MX to make the outline of the stage show through everything on the stage, or do I still have to keep adding another layer to the already cluttered timeline putting a box outline around the stage?

Yes you do, why don't you use folders to clean it up?

Folders are gooooooooooooooood !!
That is such an awesome feature, so is hiding the timline

Yes, no one's debating the usefulness of folders. I just think it's ass backward that Macromedia didn't include a "Show Stage Border" option. It would be so freaking useful.

yeh I agree that would help out !!
But what i do is use the guides to make a square around the stage

Guides are still a good idea, but it's still an extra layer in the timeline...

Go all the way to XP, the Home Edition is fine!
I tried to run 2000 on my Pentium 3, it crashed after 1 minute. I loaded Flash, it crashed again.
I went back to 98 SE.

I heard that XP hates web design software.

I've gone 33 days without rebooting, I only rebooted because I made some interesting system changes. With enough RAM, and TweakXP to free your memory every so often, you can last a LONG time. At worst, sometimes I needed to log off and back on, but that was it... (I'm using XP Pro)
