[Resolved] Flash Virus?

Hi from Austin, Texas.

I beg for help, so I'll get to the point.

OS 9.0.4, Powerbook G3 266 MHz.

Flash 4 AND Flash 5.

Without any apparent reason, Flash went nuts.

PROBLEM:
I am not able to drag symbols onto the stage. Hence, I can't work.

TRIED:
Clean reinstall Mac OS.
Clean reinstall Flash 4.
Booted with Base Extensions only.
Booted with even less extensions.
Trashed and retrashed Flash preferences.
Clean uninstall Flash 4, the tried Flash 5 trial.

Flash is the ONLY app that does not work correctly. I've been using Flash for years, so I'm not a complete newbie.

Has anyone had this problem? Can any suggest anything?

Is my CD installer corrupt? Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!

I'm dying. Please help if possible.

Hi ya

Welcome btw!

I havent; heard anyone having a prob like that so far, and it if it's the only app that causes the prob then it's worth getting in touch with the ppl that sold it to you.
You could also send an email to Macromedia quting your customer ref number and explain to them what the prb is.

But I think you should the honours, you've been way more active and helpful than me around here!

Besides I'm just happy coming in and helping when ever I can....I 'm not really that keen on the Mod post esp after everyything that's been going on recently. I've seen lots of verbal abuse towards the Mods and it's really unfair!!

I think they're all doing a great job btw!!

Hi Matthew.

I know it's been since August since you had this problem but did you ever find a solution? Symbols just will not move from the library to the stage. I recently purchased version 5 of Flash and the problem has been persisting for 3 days now. The problem spread to ver. 4 too and reinstalling either app does not solve the problem. Another post on Flash Kit was posted this month and he said that even reinstalling the OS didn't get rid of it.

Yup, my problem was fixed thanks to "Me2222".

In breif:
I took off OS9 and put on OS8.6 and all is well. I'm using Flash 4 'cause in my panic I accidentally broke my Flash 5 CD and it's been hell trying to get a replacement.

So:
OS 8.6 + Flash 4 = happy man.
