Creating Animatable (is that a word?) Eys Using A Mask.

Hey, I want to create some eyes with the pupil under some kind of mask so that the pupils can't go outside the eyeball. Just create some nice, animatable eyes like I see in many of the footers. Any sugestions/links to tutorials?
