In a cavern, in a canyon,
    Excavating for a mine,
    Dwelt a miner, forty-niner
    And his daughter Clementine.
    Oh my darling, Clementine

How different are you now from how you were in High School/College? Would people who knew you then be surprised at how you are now?

15 years later i'm still at it

    let's see.........
if I were an old fogey (remember I said IF) then I would think that it would have been a pretty smooth progression from then until now.
I think that ones moral values and approach to life have been pretty much established by high school years, and hindsight from previous experiences would mean that making difficult decisions became a little easier as time went on, I would imagine.
I would think that high school friends would be surprised at how comfortable I had become with life and it's little ups and downs.
I don't know though.......I'll wait and see what happens when I become an old fogey.

I still see all the people I actually liked at my school and still rent a house with one of them and work with another so I don't think I've changed much really, just got fatter

Hahah from the thread title I thought this post was going to be about walking frames or something!

How old is old? I met up with some people I really used to hate at school recently and they are really nice now. I think we've all mellowed out quite a bit

I think most of my schoolmates would still recognise me - I haven't changed much .... still same height , same long hippy hair (bit darker shade now though, still pale

I do keep in touch with some of my friends from the schools i went to in Athens (Dasos) and in Paris (Montrouge)- my oldest friend is a Greek girl (Maria) who lives in Athens and we hook up whenever i visit which is either around Xmas or in the summer. We've known each other since we were 5 -6 and started school together. I'd say to this date she's my longest friend and one of the few ppl i still keep in touch with after all these years

Ive talked to her this Xmas when i got snowed in, in Athens and hope to see her again this summer. She said she wasnt surprised with where I am or what i do, i was always pretty independent, introvert, quiet and content being alone and surrounded by books, reading and/or writing. Looking back Id say I achieved pretty much what i set out to do - go to college, get my degree, do some travelling ... be published

Still at 27 today i feel sometimes like Bono said once ' I still havent found what im looking for'

    A,
I'm not sure we ever do....eventually it seems like the journey is more important than the destination.

Aria seems to have set her sights too high, I'd settle for a head transplant today or some more asprin

The Leeds marathon was on today and just seeing the people running made me feel ill
