I don't know if this has been done here before. But it doesn't matter, anyway!

What about somebody starting a swf film (like the ones GmF makes from time to time), e-mailing it to somebody else who makes another bit, etc, etc?

We would basically make a list of people interested, and then build the film bit by bit, one after the other. Basically is like the old game of "I start a story, you do another bit..."

Some people tried this before in a PlanetQuake forum, but it wouldn't work because nobody did actually start with the project. In this case, if you people are interested, we WILL make this come true.

What do you think? We could have the .fla file for one week, and then e-mail it to someone else, with a few more kbs in it!

Well, I hope someone is interested. If there is, I'll post in a few hours and see what we can do...!!

My original idea was to make a humoristic tribute to the Coffee Lounge and its members, but of course that is just an idea and I'd appreciate your suggestions!!!

Just a question... are .fla compatible between Mac and Pc? 'Cause if not that will limit us... we need to know if you people are more comfortable with F4 or F5 and if you've got Mac or Pc...

phooka: .flas are cross-platform compatible. i work on macs and never had any problems with PC flas. Use either resedit or flashtyper (which is easier&faster) to restore their resources. PC users don't even need to do any conversion to open mac flas. i think we should stick to flash 4 for a while till flash 5 spreads.

Well: what do you think about the following:

- I could start a very short scene with Flash 4 (let's say 5 to 10 kbs at most).

- I'd send it to the first in list by order of appearance (in this case Pea).

- Pea could have a few kbs. to use: (25? 50? Any suggestions?). She would return the fla (one or two weeks later? suggestions pleaze!) to me so it would not get lost.

- I would send it to the next in list... I think this is better than a normal chain in order to prevent the lost of the .fla.

- Till it's done...

If is that OK by you, I'll start it next week. If anyone has a better suggestion, please let me know!

We will start ASAP! However, if more people are interested in joining the gang, I'll be checking this thread regularly. Don't worry to "sign up" , if later you find that is difficult to join because of whatever the reason, you'll be instantly excommunic... sorry, forgiven!

I will not take at all any "controlling" type of rol; actually, I will send the first .fla almost empty for you people to decide!

Finally, I suppose any one of you is able to receive and use a .zip file, so that is the format I will use. (Mac users, any problem with .zip files?)

Well that's probably the main problem... what if we just do NOT know? So everyone receives the .fla and decides what to do following the initial scenes but adapting it to her / his style?

I have Flash 5, and if you stick to Flash 4 I can't help you. I don't want to downgrade. So, since you can't open Flash 5 .flas in Flash 4, you would have to sort the list by who have Flash 4, then at the end of the list, those who have 5 or some people may not be able to chip in.

I understand if I can't join.

Sleepless, I am sorry about it. However, wouldn't you like to collaborate making a sound loop, or something like that? Something that we could import to the actual film! We would love to include it...

One latest consideration: all of us have different styles, and will probably not be inspired with the same things.

That is the reason that we are allowed to change dramatically the style of the .fla when we receive it! (Just the part that corresponds us, though ) Doing that, we will preserve the inspiration to do it, on one hand, and will show the different styles in the film.
