ok, I know it's possible to create and rotate a letter in Swift3d... but what if I want to make little white dots or flashes of light trace along the edge of the letter while it rotates. How would I go about doing that?

That would all be done in Flash after you import your Swift3D animation.

thanks...
so how can flash map out the outline of a 3D object while its spinning in a 3D environment? I'm kinda confused now.

Unfortunately there is no automatic function to accomplish this. You have to add the effect to the imported animation in Flash frame by frame.

It can be done in Swift by using the "specular Highlights" check box and of course placing the lights properly to get the effect where you want it. You will have to add the lens flare after words in Flash if you want it but thats a simple movie clip that you just put where you want it and size it. If you need any more help just ask. but it is possible with out doing frame by frame work. Regards, Bill

I guess it depends on what kind of effect you are looking for, but I don't think that the specular highlights created by Swift3D are going to generate the effect Off Top is trying to achieve. If I am mistaken, then Bill is right that you can get something to that effect by checking the specular highlights option, but that alone is not going to produce a very spectacular effect. It's true though, that you might not have to do it frame by frame. Depending on the animation, you may be able to use a motion guided tween.
