Has anyone tried out Optimaze?
Does it truely reduce file size by 60%?
What does it do to the quality of jpegs?
Any testimonials will be helpful, I hate wasting money.

here's is a good review. from the other threads, it seems like it's a good, but not perfect, way to do the file optimization for your files.
JPEG compression, I have not read or seen an example of how it's affected, if at all.

any other reviews?
I'm looking for less biassed reviews. Something from the people who use flash every day.

Optimaze! only works it's magic on the vector graphic portions of your .SWFs. JPEGs and all other raster-based imagery is left completely untouched, as are sounds. The more complex your vector graphics are, the more compression you will get.

Hey .. *sniff sniff* my review is not biassed. I use Flash almost every day in my work (Have been for almost 5 years now). I only post reviews on Swhiz that are based around EVERYDAY workings.
Optimaze is the best VECTOR compression system out there. It uses different technology to Flash's Z-Lib and Curve systems. It does NOTHING to bitmaps, fonts and scripts. It works on VECTOR only.
I've used it to much advantage in 3D movie work, Flash games and even Database Interfaces developed in Flash. Hey every kb shaved is a kb saved!!
You've just gotta take the time to play. If you get in and HIT the optimaze settings WAY up ... it'll screw your work. But take time to adjust the settings and you'll see a HUGE improvement.
My one negative with it is the CURVE system in it is a bit touchy esp with squares and such like.
