Thread: Quick way to chop up images in photochop?

    I have a map image which i need to chop up and save as seperate images and the map i have is huge so their is alot of tiles i was just wondering if someone has a quick way

    Reason i have to chop it up is because it 4 a tile based game :P

    i know phreax knows how to do it with photoshop but he's away at the moment. fireworks will do it

    Because if they are you can use the actions menu (these are photoshop actions not flash at all) to record what you do allowing you to then replay the actions on each bit
    eg select
    cut
    new doc
    paste
    save
    close
    could be put into one button press
    bye

    well in that case, how do you chop up in fireworks?

    fireworks has a slice function where you can divide up the graphic into pieces. it's designed for webpage output where each piece may be a button or rollover;

    check the yellow dot. you just click and drag. i think you can adjust it by numbers as well. when you export you choose a prefix and it names the files prefix_row_col etc.

    I havent really worked with actions on photoshop please fill me in
