Esherbet ,
If you have the files and have done the tutorials it should work . If you could post your swi file someone else may be better able to understand what the problem is . It may not even be the preloader .

The simplest way i find, is to make 10 images in your favorite image app, like paintshop pro or photoshop.
these images show the progression of the bar, broken into ten images. The first image is 10%, the second 20% and so on.
You then place them all in your preloader in the right order and space them well apart leaving 5 or so frames to play with. If image 10% is placed at frame2 and image 20% at frame7, the first action should be:at frame2 if last frame in next scene is loaded, go to frame7. repeat untill the sequance is complete. You must also give the frame proporties in your preloader the statement: at frame3 "stop"
and at frame8 "stop" and so on. This will prevent the preloader getting ahead of itself.
this does make a simple and static loaderbar but it can be done in next to no time.

There are many different ways you could do it ... But, if you want the easiest - most convenient method - come to my site and download the percentage preloaders ... If you have problems (which few do) - post on my help forum and I will certainly fix ya right up.
