In a cavern, in a canyon,
Excavating for a mine,
Dwelt a miner, forty-niner
And his daughter Clementine.
Oh my darling, Clementine

I don't use Partition Magic - never quite done what it says it's going to --- I've heard from both sides on this issue - half the people I know use it successfully - the other half don't and are too pissed off to talk about it

True, but sometimes it is not practical to drop everything and repartition your hd.

imagination through stupidity
a partition is a beginning and an end to an alloted area of space on ur hd, that has information about that space. ie clusters, kb .. etc. it is nearly impossible to merge them w/out losing data. i would recommend go buying an 80gb hdd from office depot, copying everything to it.. formatting ur current hdd. merging the partitions. bring all ur data back over.. and returning the hdd.
