Video and Audio don't sync

I received a .wmv from a client and imported it into flash.

Upon play back the video and audio don't match (video is too fast)
It is fine when viewed through windows media player....

There have been many reported issues with Flash MX's audio encoding sync problems. There are a couple of things you can try. The main thing would be to set the framerate at 1:1 with the source. Another would be to make sure you are using less than a 100% quality setting.
You may also want to try our software, Flix, which has excellent audio sync.

I have tried the first two, to no avail. I guess my only option is to purchase more software (shameless Mr.B, shameless).

I am intrigued by these reported issues of audio encoding problems. Are there any tech notes on Macromedia's site? I would just like to know what the issues are so I can explain them to my boss (and any future clients) and so I don't look to incompetent...

Both these threads are on the same prob
i have had big probelms with this too,
and tried many work arounds.
in the end it was a combination of things between
frame rate, bit rate, and sometimes spiltting the audio and the video trak.
havent seen anyway where referring to an official note from macromedia.
are you using mx or and another compression software?
am currently testing but it seems that sorenson pro doesnt have the same issues.
what is really annoying is that it is not always consistent.
the audio synch probs that is, depends on machines etc etc.

I ended up running the mpeg through FlaskMpeg to get an uncompressed avi(no audio) to take into Sorenson Spark Pro (demo version). Then I took the flv out of sorenson and put the seperated audio file on another layer set to stream. It works very well and cut the file size from 555k to 265k.

I had some issues with the wildform program, Flix. I couldn't control the output well enough to get what I wanted. The file size actually increased and it dropped frames like crazy...I think its more of me not knowing how to use the program.
