i could not find a general video forum, so postes here. sorry if this is against the law of the land.

i'm new to video, just got a sony minidv which program should i use? i can get both premire and after effects, and or vegas video. i am knowlageable in photoshop and illustrator, but i don't want to just jump into more adobe products because they have the "adobe everywhere" stamp on them. i want the best product for dv editing (under 15,000 bucks of course) and if there is one that's better, what is it? (budget is around 1,000 bucks) thanks for the tips.

    Hi.
The new Pinnacle DV editor has gotten some good reviews. And if you're on a mac, final cut pro is supposed to be the best.
You should probably try out the different versions and see which one you like the best.

    Hi
Premier 6.5 and After Effects 5.5 pro bundle are great products , if you are at ease with Photoshop and Illustrator l would not hesitate going for Premiere and AE ,for video editing they are on top of the heap ,and they have more supported plugins than other editors and of course they slip stream into PS and Illustrator beautifully.
    Adobe make excellant programs .
    Good Luck
    Rod
