I was wondering how would i retain quality of and imported jpg file . What i mean is i have created some pixel art images and when i import them into flash the pixel art look aort of blury and doesnt retain the pixel quality, i was wondering if i had to import it to another program and then export it to flash.

I was told to import it to fireworks and the import it in to flash ? But i havent really worked with fireworks much .

    Any suggestions

Hi import the jpeg on full quality (dont compress it before import) then let flash compress it when u export to swf

there is a grey box that pops up, half way down it it says jpeg quality, u can change this setting 80 works well (note the bigger the number the better quality (bigger file size)

let me know if it works

Try exporting as a different format, as JPGs tend to blur things sometimes, especially when individual pixels are important.

GIF or PNG are usually better formats for pixel art, I think, because they're compressed differently from JPGs.

Photoshop doesn't do PNGs too well, it does GIFs decently.. if you have fireworks, thats what I would suggest for PNGs
