that is nice
very easy navigation and i like the splash logo,
anyways loading the band is not really needed, is it>
and if its index page, why does it use popup?
jst a thght, and gd wrk, gl hf
anyway it loads fine, and the band music is too heavy for my modem
and i hate it

Love the intro,
Love the Navigation,
Very clean easy to use, im a fan of pop-ups but not to many.
I would have used a little less spae for the movie, or added more to it!
Agreed hate the sound track, and thats bad because I have a very diverse taste in music.
Not to sure on the font used in the menu's its kind of distracting.

good comments, thanks fellas. had to do it pop up b/c had all these existing pages and didn't want to redo the whole site in flash. can you think of a better option given what's there? There are tons of existing pages i need to update, and i was avoiding having to update their design as well, but i may have to. what do you think? thanks again.

css
if the rest of the site is in html, I would go or a CSS Style sheet, and just insert it the rel link into every page, include some DHTML that way you get a kind of flash effect.
Have a look at these examples they both use css
http://intercity.net3services.com/int_current
Basic HTML, CSS, asp
http://intercity.net3services.com/newweb
DHTML, included in an external style sheet
This way I only need to make the change in one location, that change is then picked up, by the html page as it loads, and make the change dynamically.
If its not an external style sheet your gonna have the same problem.
Let me know what you think.

Loads fine, nice intro.
Tip: The menus do not close when you mouseover them and move your mouse up out of the movie. Add 10-20px around the entire movie of white space to prevent the menus from staying open.

I like it, but it could use some spicing up. I very much like the menu, i've been looking to make one like that lately, but my many attempts seem to fail. Know any good tutorials on how to do it? I've not found one exactly like that here at flashkit.
My suggestion? Add a little more details to the page, and don't be so lazy and remove all them pop-ups
keep it up!

hi jeantje,
i'll try to throw together a tut for it soon and post it along with the source files on my site. this is the incentive i've needed to do what i wanted to do for a while now: start a tut and source file section to give back to the community.
oh, and about the music....it's the stanford fight song played by the stanford band. not my taste either but it fits the bill, you know?

I think the font is too large - and looked a little fuzzy. Try using a smaller pixel font. Also ALL CAPS are a bit in your face as well as being harder to read compared to Title Case.
I'd ditch the music backing altogether for a site like this.

ok, you guys win. i'll make the sound load only on demand (on user's click).

FK's Official Cricket Eater.
the intro is sweet.
the pixel fonts seem anti-aliased..(thought the point to pixel fonts were for them to be aliased?)
you can hardly see the music on/off.
otherwise great job

here the movie is original size. in the index.html page, i made it 1.5 times bigger cuz i thought it filled the page better. but maybe i should go back to original size to make the text look sharper and/or to fit on low res monitors better? to me, the text in either case looks equally as sharp but i know how on other monitors it acts unpredictably if you resize movies. in the original (assu.html) file, it is 8 point text as it is supposed to be. does it look any clearer to you guys than the index.html page? which size do you recommend for the final page?

pixel font is corrected on the index page.
but defenatly make the music on/off larger. and/or and different color.

I liked the menu, it was realy cool. It was so easy to navigate. The music blends in well. I loved it man.
-
cool idea...
i thought about something similar too, but your approach is cool well done
little small though

FK M.D.
i put it back to orig size. i think it will run better on slower machines being smaller, and in addition prevents any blurry text issues, and low res monitors can see the whole thing. added some pics.
