Thread: server restart

  1. #1
    Hey all,

I'm using the FCS trial version. I've found a few times that I've had problems with my applications not communicating properly with the server. The communications problems all go away when I go to the server admin page and restart the server. Has anyone else had to restart the server a few times? Is this a flaw in the trial version? Or am I doing something wrong with my code to cause undue server strain? Is that even possible?

    Thx

    Hey -
My now dead server was running on a 450mhz pc - 128mb ram. It ran for days on end. Once in a while it would screw up similarly to what you're saying, needing a restart, but not often at all.

mostly, with the video conference stuff, if I mess with the settings alot it would start to get whacked.

restart the server? Hell yeah, once in a while I make a buggy code, and when I do that, I have to restart the server again and again as I try to fix the code and when I do fix it it never needs to restart again untill I mess something up again. There are certain things that makes the server crash, and Im starting to think that this happens no matter how greatful server performance one has. I dunno if its when it somehow gets order to overwrite stuff in a funny way....

    You never write buggy code!

Yeah - my thought is that it gets whacked when it tries to do something it's not supposed to. I'm going to go ahead and blame that on windows tho

I guess we won't know for sure until there is a linux version available!

    Psx
