LoadMovie including external .swf's

i posted this in the nOOb forum but sadly had no reply

i am using flash 5 and recently used this tutorial

to produce a pre-loader for my movie, further i have added some sound by importing an external swf with just background music within it.

when my movie loads it doesn't load the external swf which causes the sound to play at the wrong point can some one please inform me on either how to

please note that offline the external .swf loads fine.

modify the existing preloader to include this external file
-or-
to make another scene to preload the external file after the main preloader (preferred option)
-or-
and if it comes to it a seperate preloader altogether that loads external files aswell

i am not worried about losing the kb and % loading updates

Have you made sure that the external swf is in the same root directory as your main movie and that you have specified the correct path?

ok thanks v much for your reply the 2 swf files are definately in the same directory as i have already said in the previous post

the problem is that the movie loads and the "continue" button appears, obviously this allows the user to start the movie. this is the problem because the movie can be started before the music has loaded! the preloader loads the movie but doesn't sadly include the external music file so this only starts to load after the preloader

you may ask why i am using an external swf for the music but i am having difficulty controlling the background music over the different scenes so this is not viable.

so i am basically looking for either a preloader that includes external swf files or a preloader that loads external swf files only

sorry if this isn't very clear but is hard to put down on paper thanks in advance - barry
