    Zombie Blast....

Zombie Blast is pretty camp..Good idea, like the
idea of having to hit specified areas, nice gore on the head
    shot.

I like shoot em up games[; ]

This is a first attempt at a fighter
trying to pick up some basics.. Looks like the people
in here are pretty advanced gurus.

    Bullfrawg....

Many thanks for clearing that up Bullfrawg - and I totally agree. I guess when we're used to seeing the amazing 3d games that are available for consoles anbd PC's today we tend to take flash games for granted...

anyway - thanks for the support!

I don't think this game is the most awfull shooter, although much improvements to a game in particular such as this can be payed much more attention to.

Some things you may want to take into consideration:

I'd say lose the target, perhaps have an option to turn it on or off, center the gun in the middle (a graduate jump would be nice when fired). Rather then just having the Zombie randomize from here to there zooming in, have em animated (walking) give it the effect as hes walking closer and closer to you, also a creepier background, perhaps the inside of a haunted house, with animated objects around (eye candy, as you say) would really catch the users attention more. And lastly, some kind of menu placed on the bottom, you know like, how many bullets you've got left remaining, a picture of your characters face thats supposed to be killing off these zombies, kind of like how its set in first person shooter games, ofcourse without the 3d rendering, unless you really want to tackle a big project.

You may wanna use keyboard events in place of the mouse to make your programming skills a bit more challenging.

Anyways, just an idea, you may want to consider some of these, you may not, if perhaps you do, then I'm glad I could point you in the right direction. Good Luck acha'

Believe it or not but almost everything you have said is being worked on for the 3 level cd I talked about in an earlier post - Zombies are walking, you have the choice of different weapons and also one of the levels take place in a "haunted mansion". There are also different variants of Zombie and the players "face" begins to turn into that of a zombie everytime you are hit.

The problem with Flash and more importantly, Flash on the net, is the question of frame rate. People have already complained that the game runs to slowly - well this is after the game is completely cut down so you can imagine just how processor intensive the full game will be!

Unfortunatley I can't let you see the 3 level version as of yet as I am bound to my client...sorry! But as soon as they are happy with it I'll let you know!

    Gambini,

Can you comment on what kind of $$$ someone could expect to charge for such a production? Also, I noticed the copyright notice is your client. Did you deliver ownership of the game to them as well?

If these are not discussable, I understand!

My client "TheDOtComCafe" was originally started by myself as a UK portal site - I have since recieved sponsorship from various parties who now have input into the site (as well as me)- unfortunatley I can't realy comment any more than that! Sorry!

However, we are currently considering changing the ethos TheDotComCafe to more of an entertainment site targeted at the more proficient flash user. We're currently doing some research into this field and some prototype work has begun...it's all looking good. Keep checking back!
