Jigsaw piece shap prob

Anyone got any idea how I can make my jigsaw piece look like real jigsaw pieces? With this stupid angular select tool in flash (4) it's impossible...
I tried using a template shap but the problem is my objective picture is a vector graphic so I cant select everything within an outline very easily, if you get what I mean...
any tricks tot he trade?

What I would do is create a grid (with the line tool) of where you want your puzzle pieces to be.

Then use the circle tool to draw circles where the linking bits of the puzzle will be.

Then delete the bits of line within the circles.

There you have a classic puzzle shape.
