My mp3 files won't play in 3dfa only .wav, why?

I would imagine it has something to do with the type of mp3, I've had very little problems loading mp3's except when they are done with Variable bitrate or at a non-standard bitrate.

and there is another problem with mp3.
i don't no why, but in an imported mp3-file there is a gap at the beginning, so you can't play loops!!
only with wav, there is no space at the beginning inserted.

sorry if i have written something wrong, but i had no success.
i had always a gap.
perhaps this is because of the mp3-generator??

I sometimes get the gap too, so don't feel too bad. I think it has to do with the length of the file, longer ones don't generally have it, but the shorter ones do. I have the best success, with sound, by using 8 bit mono wav files. The program will drop it down to that rate anyway, so it's best to optimize as such before you get started.
