Hi gamers,
I see there is a great interest in the platform games so here is a new sample from a game Im making:
1. you can jump on the platforms
2. you can collect the gold arround.
3. There are no side boundaries yet so dont jump off the screen.
4. No collision detection for the monster on top.
5. One bug when you jump on the movable platform
6. Char animation is done works good.
7. Score is working as well.
8. Ready to answer questions about the codding
9. Not ready to release fla ( to messy and not optimized )
The way it will look at the end:
one universal fla for building all kind of platform games
a) you will be able to position the platfrorm the way you like it.
b) you can use the hero as is no animation will be needed.
c) the background will be up to you.
d) goodies like gold, diamonds and sttuff will be up to you.
e) Monster animation will be up to you as well.

LOL, hey thats pretty neat! Although the jumping seems a bit out of place, I notice while your in the air the character seems to continue to walk if you press the arrowkeys, perhaps you can constrain this action from occuring (give em a jumping animation, and restrict walking movement while in the air). Also the scrolling piece on top there, shouldn't the character move along with it while being on it. Anyhow, pretty neat!

Yea jumping is on its way as well as a crouch sequence. I was thinking about the moving platform and I desided that you have to walk with it. It makes it more interesting and I think to leave as is for now. Ok ill keep working on it.

The physic of jumping feels like moon gravity, you should make it much faster.

Hay! Mad-Sci, I love your work!
I noticed how the character seams to go in to the ground then back up when it lands, I am assuming this is because you are using hitTest?
But I do have an idea! If you do your hitTest on the tile above the actual ground you could then accurately predict the ground!
Well any way I am currently on revision 3 of my game engine adding new security feathers! I cant what to show you!

Sub yea U right it is moon gravity Ill make it faster. FlashCat I did use the hitTest() in fact. Can you see the red platforms those are the one. I recalculate the overlap and reposition the hero acordingly. Though I think that the jump codding which I used is not very good at least for now so Ill be changing it and Ill get rid of the overlap calculation.
