just email the organisers directly with your resume and portfolio and ideas about sessions youd like to have.
I'm sure they'll consider you for future events.

Sorry for coming down as hard as before - I guess Im tired of this whole female flashers thing :/
I worked in a male -dominated industry and was at college also in a similar set up (Engineering school) and was never treated differently or expected to. i personally dont think women are being discriminated in this field.
