Error Message: Memory
Hi:
I posted this in General Help, where it rightfully belongs, but it quickly dropped to page 2 with only 3 page views. Ummm, 2 of those were me
PLEASE READ:
I have a very small movie, 49k swf, 165k fla, but everytime I edit an MC, I keep getting the below error message, and then when I go back to the main timline, the main graphic, which is about 40k, disappears, and I have to double click it in the Library, and click "update," to get it back. Not a problem, except that it does it every time I try to edit an MC.
Here is the error message:

What is worse, I have no idea what the "Finder" is--can't find the finder Where is it? Anybody know?
Any help will be appreciated, as I will be selling this this source file, but I can't in its present state.
Thanks,
James

Hello James,
Well... the "Finder" is the MAC system through which you allocate memory to programs by increasing it in the "get Info" panel. It's not the first time i see a post like this one. Was that clip originally made with a MAC? it sounds like a cross/platforms bug.
Would it be hard to start a new .fla? copy/pasting symbols and codes?

No, I don't have a MAC...Never had a MAC. I created the file myself...Flash 5, on a PC....
Hmmm, maybe I'll try doing as you say, and copy and paste into a new movie. I've been reluctant to open any other existing flas, for fear that they'd end up the same way. If that doesn't work, I guess, I'll try reinstalling Flash. What do you think? Or, maybe, I could post this in Macromedia's forum. Someone there is bound to know what to do.
It just started for no apparent reason.
Thanks, for your help.

Reinstalling flash could be a good idea. Prior to this, try to get more info at MM. Or maybe even here, as I've seen that posted before : "what's the finder?" ;)
good luck

I think I need a finder finder. Uh, a finder to help me find the finder, that is.
Now, if I can only find it....
