button graphic distorted... and IT'S VECTOR!

For some reason my poor buttons are looking chewed at the edges. I'm not sure why this would happen. The buttons were created in illustrator and they look fine there. They also look normal in the button symbol edit screen and elsewhere in the fla file. Once exported they look as if cookie monster came an snuck a bite!

Of less importance I seem to have a small shift. The info pallet gives me totally off coordinates from MC to score.

Any ideas oh flash ones? I have attached file for perusal.

bgregus, these little things can drive you nuts sometimes!

firstly, you said you created those buttons in Illustrator, with just simple rollovers like that, there really is no need. You can easily repoduce them in Flash. Sometimes Flash can get buggy with imported stuff. But just to be safe, check your output settings from Illustrator.
If you're using version 9.0 or higher then check you're "Save for Web" settings.
Flash 5 also tends to hate .gifs, don't know why, just seems to.

Secondly, as for the shift in the top button once they finish tweening, check the co-ordinates of the last keyframe to the most previous keyframe.
Also, you may have also accidentally added a keyframe, thus shifting it by one pixel or so.

    Hope this helps

hey, don't laugh. Your daughter may be in here!!!

    Yeah totally nuts!

My button is actually a vector... I storyboarded it in Illustrator. The import method might be at fault -> I copy pasted it in! Dunno if that is bad but have done it before with good results.

The wierd thing about the shift is I can't seem to check the coordinates.

For example the top button in the main score is x465.3 y99.5 but in the movie clip it's x67.3 y-50.5. As you can see by exporting the fla, the shift is only one or two pixes. I'm really at a loss with such a huge diff. in coordinates. but it's the shape that really bugs me.

Thanks though... I'll see if importing as an .ai file instead of copy paste does the trick. Right now though it's time to hit the hay!
