fat snacks
how fast? there's loads of weight gain gym products that'll bulk you up in no time. Or, make sure you have a decent brekky, a full lunch, and a big dinner! Be careful not to eat lots of fat snax like crisps, chocloate, sweets, you'll jeapoardise your health.
Or... start smoking, and then quit! everyone who quits puts on loads of weight! i jest of course.
The best thing to do is start going to the gym and lift heavy weights. Light wieights many times for definition, or heavy weights a few times for bulk. simple.

Didn't do it.
Hey, Enstent.
As a rather slim guy myself, I understand this problem. It seems like no matter how much I eat I can't gain any weight (sorry to those who would kill for this problem.. *self-satisfied snicker* )
My first question to you would be, how young are you? If you're under 15, there isn't really much you do at this stage. Wait out the hormones. If you're in the 16 plus range, two words: exercise, diet. Eat a lot of health foods, keep the calorie count up and do weight bearing exercises to increase muscle mass. I've seen a lot of gym addicts using weight-gaining powders and such, but I've never tried them so I can't really advise on it. If you're over 40, well, you just might have to get used to the way you are.
I'm over 6 feet tall and have never been over 170 pounds; I've been teased about it for years. I used to weigh 150, but I put on about 15 pounds overseas that seems to have stuck. I'm trying to get into the habit of getting to the gym at least twice a week, but have only made in 3 times in the past month or so. It's not like I don't like exercise...
...I just find it so tiring.
I'll never forget one comment a rather cute girl made:
My boyfriend? We'll, he's kind of built like you, but with muscles.

good luck!

I'm not sure if you're genuinely upset by this or just pointing out an ironical situation, but I can assure you that skinny people (especially boys) can have just as hard a time with their body image as someone in the opposite situation. What really matters is feeling that your body is sub-par, for what ever reason. I can also tell you that countering this particular problem can be just as difficult and frustrating as trying to lose excess weight, and requires a similar if not equal dedication to watching your diet and exercising.
Sorry if that sounds a little harsh, but I have been bothered by this for my entire (conscious) life and I'm tired of people telling me that it isn't that bad and I should just be happy with the way I am. The point is, everyone should be happy with the way they are (skinny, fat, tall, short, ect. as long as it doesn't impact your health in a negative way) but few people are, and everyone has a flaw they want to deal with.
In any event (gets out of pompous-preachy mode), Mark.P, I have a job working a desk for 8 hours a day, will that do?

lots of carbs, protein, and starch. make sure you also get a workout regimen that includes heavier weights at lower reps, than lower weights at higher reps... the latter will cut and define, the former will build mass.
things like cheese, breads, and pastas will pack it on, but not healthily. stick to the recommended daily allowances, but shift your tastes in food from quick sugars, like candy, fruit to more stuff like rice, meats, vegetables.
just a thought...
beware. once you start gaining and working out, you will always have to keep it up.

be careful bulking up - it's better to get your body fit and lean, then to just build mass indiscriminatly. you will have to keep it up, as gerbick said, and if you don't you will look nasty later in life.
also, when you hit your mid 20's, your metabolism will change and you won't have any problem keeping that weight on
Ah, these boys is all swelled up. So this was earlier...getting set to trade. Then, woooaaah differences.

Sorry for not replying, but I was out all day.
I'm 6'2" 145 pounds age 19.
I am not really in the mood for working out, so to eat more interests me a lot! I do eat whenever I can, but what I eat is the question. I will start eating high protein meals and see if I can gain a few pounds.
Thanks for the insight everyone!

Don't use steroids, I recently read an article on Biogenics and the effects of steroids published by the Americian Medical Association (AMA)
Basically to summarize drugs and steroids have their supposed effects and then their actual effects. The side effects are... well SCARY!
Drug, etc.
Adrenal Androgens, DHEA, Adrostenedione, Amino Acids,
Supposed Effects
Increased: Muscle mass, Strength, Decreased: Fat
Actual Effects
Increased Testosterone, no other effects if dietary protein is adequate.
Side Effects
Baldness, gonadial suppression, prostate hypertrophy, breast development in males, masculinization in females and children, acne, liver disease, and increase risk of heart disease and various cancers.
Drug, etc.
Anabolic Steroids, Chromium picolinate, HMB, "Metabolic Optimizing" Meals for atheletes
Supposed Effects
Increased: Muscle mass, Agressiveness, and endurance.
Actual Effects
Increased Aggression, Difficulty concentrating, increased fat free mass, no other effects if dietary protein is adequate.
Side Effects
Severe gonadial suppression, possible liver disease/failure, breast development in males, masculinization in females and children, acne, and increase risk of heart disease.
CONTROLLED IN MOST COUNTRIES
Drug, etc.
Ephedrine,
Supposed Effects
Increased: Increasedtraining intensity due to stimulant effect
Actual Effects
Decreased appetitie when taken with caffeine, little evidence of increased training intensity.
Side Effects
DEATH, um not enough... DEATH, abnormal heart rhythms, heart, liver, and kidney failure, moderate to severe headaches, and gastrointestinal distress.
ILLEGAL IN CANADA
Drug, etc.
Creatine
Supposed Effects
Increased muscle creatine phosphate, increased muscle mass and capacity for preformance in high intensity exercise.
Actual Effects
Increased muscle mass, some limited positive changes in preformance of HI exercise.
Side Effects
Muscle cramping (can be severe) exacerbration of preexisting kidney and liver problems. LONG TERM EFFECTS UNKNOWN.
So basically most of these "big weight gaining tools" do little more (and sometimes less) than a big hearty bowl of wholewheat pasta. Yet can cause some horrible side effects.
IMO only the mother of a child should be able to breast feed, but maybe I'm just old fashioned.. in the future who knows, MEN with big honking breasts, uncontrollably dripping milk, may be the newest fad.
Lift weights, eat more GOOD foods load up on pastas + fruits and vegetables then lower your meat intake. Complex Carbs (In pasta fruits etc.) burn slower than other carbs... If you eat more complex carbs then you burn you will gain weight.

?
drugs is a big no no.
Gerbs is right -- big weights, low reps.
Eat protien and carbs loaded food like rice, chicken (especially prime cuts), rice, potato -- that sort of thing. And top it up with veg and fruit. For extra, you could get hold of Solgar natural vitman tablets (not for faint-hearded!)
As for training -- you could do quick ones like tricep dips, bicep curls, bench press. Bench press is especially brilliant for bulk build.
If you are still not interested, consider "Devil Method" training. 5 reps, 4 sets, around 10mins.
Further queries, post here.
