    Sound problems!!

    Hi guys,
I nearly finished my next cartoon of Johnny Bravo, but i then came across a problem. I tried to input a sound through the sound and action window and it refused to accept the file.
Along with this a window popped up saying "Not a PCM file. Wave format unknown."

Can someone tell what this is about and how I can fix it, that would be great.

There are many, many types of wav format. The only one which KoolMoves accepts is PCM format which is the most common. I know very little about sound files but you might try importing this file into a sound editor and exporting. If this particular sound is not critical find a substitute in the Sound loops section of FlashKit.

For KoolMoves (or even Flash MX),the best settings for imported sound are:
    11025 or 22050 Hz , 8 bit or 16 bit PCM
Use "Windows Media Recorder" (or something advanced, like Sound Forge) to resample your sounds.

There is a really good freebie on the market called Goldwave which will do everything and also includes a pretty decent effects library,
doesn't make the coffee at 4 in the morning though. http://www.goldwave.com
