Griffhiggins 2.2
Change the pitch of a song...while preserving the length.
I've tried Goldwave, which works nominally. Voices are corrupted though.
The closest I've found to working great is WaveLab 4. It adds little clicks though.
What do professionals use?

If you can get hold of "Soundforge", it does a good job of this.
I've used it to slow down guitar playing so you can work out the notes etc without changing the pitch.
The only thing is if you do it too much you do get a slight flanging type effect. But as long as your not shortening/lengthening the music by more than 30% it should be fine.

whoops, just realised i've read you post wrong!
yup, sound forge does a good job of changing the pitch while keeping the length the same. Very handy, you can make drums sound massive by lowering the pitch.
good luck mate!

Acid Pro does it
Goldwave simply streches and squeezes a sound into the time you apply to it.
Dont get me wrong, Goldwave is cool and is one of my most used sound tools.
To keep the pitch, you's have to do some seious math and splicing, then gapping the splices till you get the time.
Thats basically what the programs do that do have this function and is how you can get the flange effect if you adjust it dramatically.
Here is a few samples of some speed changes (In a previous projects template) that I done on Acid Pro for ya.
Just click on "E" (for Eminem) then the "Up" arrow to load it.
"Down" returns you to the menu to choose another sample
(Press the flashing "Next" button)

Acid Pro changes the length of the song though.
Sound forge actually uses algorithims to bring down the pitch without changing the lenght or speed of the song.
