connection timeout ... a lot

is it just me or is it dificult to access certain parts of the site.
the pages start to load, the header loads ok and after a minute or two i get a connection timeout.
does the server need a boost or what?

I spent the last 6 hours trying to get to the boards and when I finally got to the lounge I posted the same question (I was so psyched to finally get here) before I saw your posting...yeah, me too, having same problem

Its because the board is so popular and at peak times the servers log files just get hammered!!!!

We must be doing something right eh...??

just a quick update on the servers, we are just setting up the site and should have them up and working soon ie within 24 hours, fingers crossed. The problem is that the site grew from around 500,000 user sessions a month to 900,000 user sessions a month in a little over a month. We have a spare third server ready to go for the new features we have lined up. It makes me tremble knowing that people can't access the site

So you decide to learn tell-targets. You go to flashkit for a tutorial, but the server is down. So you goto virtual-fx and navigate to THEIR tutorial, but it sucks. So you head over to designsbymark.com but the tutorial there doesn't really cut it, either. So you go back to flashkit, and sit there staring at the pretty blue header frame and start clicking on the links hoping maybe one of them will work but none of them do. So you go mix a drink, come back, close the "Connection timeout" box that appeared while you were away, and try again. Did it work this time?

Of course not.
