WMV streaming

Hi i had an old site up and running which i created in dreamweaver which had links to some WMV files that i was streaming over the internet through windows media player, i have redesigned my site in flash but am having trouble when trying to link a button to my WMV file. i don't want to embed the movies just have the windows Media player open and start streaming when the viewer clicks the button, any suggestions for linking the button to an external file i am using flash 5, cheers

did the geturl command work for you?

i have a similar problem. when using the geturl command flash asks if you want the file to open in the current browser window or a new one. i don't want the wmv to open in a browser window at all - i just want it to open in windows media player and play entirely seperately from the flash movie but don't seem to be able to do this.

does anyone know if this is a flash issue or do i need to go poking around in javascript or something?

any help appreciated.
