    Hello? Thread Closed?

I'm sorry but I saw no reason for this.

    1. I did not say that something had to be "not gay" before I'd endorse it.
    2. I was responding to the general accussation I've heard repeated that Trading Spaces is for women and gay men. I did not make this accussation. I was saying that I did not believe this was true. I also tried to avoid discussion on homosexuality....but apparently you people don't read "disclaimers".
    3. The purpose of the thread was to discuss whether Trading Spaces was a also a guy thing....or an inspiration to designers. Period.

I'm a bit tired of thread's being hijacked by politically correct bozos....who think they have to point out if a reference to homosexuality is negative...or even implied negative.

Suggestion: Next time read what I said...and then respond to what I said. I clearly stated what I wanted to discuss...and catchy, attention-getter title aside...it wasn't on whether trading spaces was homosexual and whether there was something wrong with that.

It was soley about the show...and whether it was a good use to appreciaters of modern art.

Most of you completly missed the point....almost somewhat intentionally.

I'm not sure why trhe thread was closed either. The point was to discuss wheither or not we were into interior home design and the like...

But you didn't have to say gay. no one even thought it 'till you said it.

    Yeah...I know...I regret that now.

I was just trying to have a catchy title.

I thought I fairly well stated my intentions with the thread though...and I do know and have read people's opinions on this matter.

I was just stepping up to say that decorating shows aren't neccessarily for women alone...and that their was no reason to childishly call them "gay"...or the people who watch them gay.

I also think I fairly well abstained from bias either way on the general morality of homosexuality.

Apparently good intentions..stated and/or implied don't mean anything to most people.

Most heard what they wanted or expected to hear.

And the topper....accussing me of being insecure in my sexuality...how petty.

They don't read the thread AND they insult.

You seem to miss the point of moderation here - especially when you open a thread about one that was closed - you are obviously trolling at this point - why not e-mail the mod who closed the thread?

And after reading the thread, I have to ask - if you're so up in arms because the thread "Wasn't about being gay", why include it at all? Surely you should be able to make a point without including an offhanded statement that you know will be misinterpreted.

Once someone says something that offends a person or peoples they ignore everything else that is said. That's just the way things go.

have either of you ever thought of writing the mods that closed the thread, instead of doing this?

it's a smarter way of getting your answer to why it was closed.

I don't really think it should have been closed but I'm not a mod so can't change it. I do have an opinion on the whole "political correctness" debate. Perhaps that is an idea for another thread.

I think the best way to deal with something you don't agree with is to email or pm the people involved... rather than posting another boring thread about it...

email the admin or mod involved if you know who it is, as has been said, opening threads about threads that were closed isn't the best way to get answers.

    cheers
