you can't be serious. are you familiar with using the Swift3D standalone compared to a real 3D animation package, such as 3D Studio Max? you have a ridiculously low amount of control over character animation, timing, and object behavior.
it's highly improbable that this site was done in the Swift3D standalone. sure, you could model the characters in it, but you could not animate them with any refinement or grace.
as for www.Neostream.com, if you look at the site carefully, you'll notice that most of the character animations are raster images, not vector. if that isn't proof enough for you, i don't know what is.
seriously, trust me on this.

erm, have you ever even used swift?
here's a model i created yesterday. is it vector? no. is it created in swift alone? yes.
swift is very versatile, with lathe tweens, and bitmap textures, all built in.
so please dont tell me to trust something in which you have little knowledge in, dumb dumb.

let's see you animate it.
start a new thread and when you do let me know and we'll discuss it there. it's rude to take over this thread. i've used Swift along with a handful of full 3D applications and have been animating for a number of years, have a degree in animation, blah blah blah. the Swift3D standalone is garbage for animating.

There's some fantastic stuff here, but there's also some stuff that just takes too long. Like, the fact that you don't cut right back to the menu after viewing a section. Seemed a little gratutious at times. Still, I'm not going to complain too much because there's so much too like about it.

Nice site, nice animations, but I have to say, as much as I hate people who are obsessed with this kind of thing, the whole concept and layout of site is neostream. I think neostream is in a class all by itself as far as the qualify of the animation. I'm not even going to schlag on this site. I AM going to suggest that it's going to take only a few more sites like this will qualify neostream as the 2A of animated sites. The whole layout of a central character surrounded by links, the transition movies. Or do you think that kind of layout is unavoidable when building an animated site? Is it inspiration to use the same layout or does that qualify as rip?

thank you for throwing out these questions at the end, first of all. i think it's way too easy to say, "that looks just like [whichever].com," and it's said far too often.
there are certain design elements and concepts that are just simply logical conclusions to a design problem. any character driven site has to follow a certain format for it to be usable: you're going to have a character, you're going to want the character be the focus so that the user instinctively interacts with it, and you'll have the character entertain the visitor in some manner, whether during a transition to reward user interaction or while waiting for the visitor to interact as a means of provoking him/her into acting.
maybe neostream has constructed the best example of character driven web design... maybe 2advanced has constructed the best example of transitional interface web design... it's all debatable. and honestly, who cares?
i don't see how this site is anything like the neostream site. the atmosphere, the style, the pacing, the transitions, etc. are all entirely different. if you're going to say that the structure is the same, then you might as well say that every site on the internet is a blatant rip-off of the first point-and-click interface known to man, which is obviously the undeniably soft, squishy, and joyously pokable belly of the Pillsbury Doughboy -- he-hee!
so there you have it, folks. all of us web designers owe everything to the Pillsbury Doughboy. the internet has been exposed!
