    The Music

Anyone heard of the band "The Music" ? the do that song, "take the long road" or something... any way i bought their cd here in canada for $10 BUT their CD doesn't play in new media.

what i mean is that it won't play on a computer unless you use the built in player, which plays the music at a low quality for some reason.. and it won't play in my mp3/cd player.

the cd only plays in old fasioned cd players... which i don't have..

    anyone else had this problem.

    Perhaps it's a anti-piracy thing....bloody riaa

Well now you own the CD, isn't it ok for you to download mp3s of it? Or can you only backup the CD you own? Maybe you can backup the CD you own then burn it again as a normal CD.

I hate all of those copy protection things. You are legally allowed to backup your own CDs so are they infringing your right to do this?

Its a shame the law is kinda grey around this area of music and backups...

Take The Long Road And Walk It... I almost bought their CD but I didn't.

Maybe you should take it back and return in exchange for another one to see if it was just that particular CD.

Yeah there was a thing on Watchdog (consumer show) here about parents returning their childrens disney cds as they wouldn't play in certain cd players or computers...

Rock type stuff... its very zepplin/free but with a new twist...

Its ok, but the singer is a bit whiney.

Yep, it's anti piracy thing from the RIAA. They've spent a lot of money on "corrupt CD's" which is likely what you have there. The technology can be circumvented with a 99p marker but you should return the CD to the store since it will more damage to the music industry if you do

must be your deck then. my kenwood can play all cd's, and it's an mp3/cd player...

oh well. too bad you don't have a CD/DVD player that's not attached to your computer.

guess most people here don't have stereo's too? sad.
